Few months ago I´ve noticed somewhere on the internet that Prague ZOO is in top 10 best zoos in the world. And have to agree. Services like restaurants, souvenir shops and others are really good and not expensive. Staff is friendly and ready to advice you. Animals look content in this zoo and have big space to live in. Theres also lot of animal species that are not anywhere else, just in Prague! 

The animals are quite clearly very well looked after and the enclosures give them plenty of room. We were there for 4 hours and didn't get to see all the animals as it closed and there was so much to see ! I recommend all day to visit and enjoy this zoo because its quite big.

A couple of the area's in the Zoo were unoccupied for our visit but then it was February and for a Zoo that operates all year round I suppose you have to expect that there are certain jobs that have to be done at some time. 

Weather was cold, but there are many pavilions (such as terrarium, Indonesia pavilion, penguin pavilion etc..) where is warm, so all time here was pleasant. You can also take your dog to this zoo (100 CZK = around 4 euros), what is restricted in many other zoological gardens over Europe. 

If going from city centre by public transportation, take metro to station Nadrazi Holesovice, then take the bus which terminates in the ZOO. Its about half an hour from city centre to get here.

We all had a great time and would go back again in May.
